Base Annual Salary range: $200-225K plus commission

Hybrid - NYC and Remote: at least 2 days/week in NYC office and/or in-person meetings

About The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Head of Sales with experience in programmatic advertising to join our team. As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for leading the sales function at Chalice Custom Algorithms: a hot AI startup with effective software that has so far been sold mostly brand direct by the founders. The ideal candidate will have a track record of building and leading a high-performing startup sales team in the programmatic space. You will report directly to our CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • As Chalice’s first sales hire, you will come into this role with a hunter mentality, as a senior individual contributor, ready to roll up your sleeves and sell

  • Partner closely with Chalice executive leadership on strategic sales opportunities, which you will carry forward to close

  • Set sales strategy for the organization: identify low-hanging fruit, and leverage relationships to identify new opportunities for Chalice within hold co agencies, large independent agencies, and with brands direct, that you will take from start to fruition

  • Build significant revenue pipeline, and work to close business that will ultimately result in long-standing, evergreen partnership deals with advertisers


In time, you will:

  • Work to build a small and scrappy sales organization to support and multiply your efforts, with
    responsibility for the overall revenue number


Qualifications:

  • Must have 10-15 years of sales/sales leadership experience, with the bulk of that in ad tech, and specifically in the programmatic space

  • Proven track record of meeting + exceeding revenue goals, both individually and as a team leader

  • Deep relationships with agency hold co leadership, as well as independent agencies and brands direct (ideally nationally, with focus on programmatic teams)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making

  • Oriented toward innovation, forward-thinking, able to pivot to pursue market opportunities

  • Ambitious and resourceful, with a preference for rapid-growth scenarios

Location:

Chalice is based in NYC, with a hybrid office/remote work site. This role is based in NY, with the expectation of 1-2 days a week in office. Travel up to 20%.


Compensation:

This role offers a competitive base salary with a range of $200-225K (plus commission), depending on experience.
